SBN is Thailand's largest designer's brand community where the members share, trade, and pre-order luxury products. The platform receives high credibility ranking, as the members are required to undertake several verification processes before they can become authorised sellers in the community.

Although SBN is well-known among designer product buyers and sellers, the platform neither intuitive nor offers a complete buying experience to the users intuitive

Evaluates Issues on the Existing Site

Initial Research (UX Audit and User Interview) was undertaken to identify design gaps as well as get a better understanding of users’ needs related to their shopping experience on luxury items.

Interface Design of The New SBN Site

As outdated interface design could arouse feelings of cyber insecurity and data leakage according to user's interview, SBN site interface has been redesigned using modern look & feel to mitigate those negative feelings.

The new site embraces modern yet fashionable visual direction with Monochrome color palette in Black & White, as majority of the platform is dominated by fashion photoshoot and product images.

UX Key Improvement 01

Improve Content Searchability

The elements such as top tags are introduced along with the search bar to resolve the searchability issue arise during UX audit. By using top tags and search, users are navigated directly to the keywords they want to see without a need to manually scan through all the information one by one.

Eliminate Information Bombardment

Jumping back and forth between different platforms for product extensive research is one of the user's pain point during decision making process. To tackle such problem, 'Style Board' which functions as Instagram and Pinterest could be introduced in platform landing page.

Reduce Perceived-Purchasing Risks via Authenticity Checker

Authenticity Checker is introduced to address user's key concerns of buying a counterfeit product. By integrating technology such as image recognition, and AI (Artificial Intelligence), the system will verify the authenticity of luxury products from the images taken by users.

Additionally, the platform can leverage business opportunities by offering expert authentication services for premium users.

UX Key Improvement 04

Brandnew Pre-Order & Pre-loved System with Social Mechanisms

Introduced Pre-order Designers System to complete buying experience. Additionally, information that is crucial for pre-ordering and decision making (e.g. social proof, seller's badges, followers, rating, and user's review) needs to be supplied to tackle their trust issues with sellers, identified as the main pain point when buying luxury goods online during the user's interview.

After order has been placed, users should be able to check and trace their order status via Order Tracker, to keep the users on track of their order.
